Missy Raines and the New Hip

"The music? Think a jazzier Nickel Creek, or a (slightly) feistier Alison Brown."
-San Jose Mercury News

Missy Raines is a beloved figure in bluegrass and a pioneering force in acoustic music. She launched her career with experimental bluegrass outfit Cloud Valley. She has toured the country with Eddie and Martha Adcock and the Masters and Claire Lynch. Missy developed a duo with band mate Jim Hurst, which pushed the envelope on how much music two people with two acoustic instruments can make.

Missy Raines is now stepping out to make a longtime dream come true: creating a fusion of bluegrass virtuosity, jazz-tinged groove and a song-driven sensibility with a hot band, “The New Hip”.

Rachael came from a musical family and first began her stage career at the tender age of two. At 8 years of age, after leaving the stage at the Wheatland Music Festival, the great Irish singer Maura O'Connell went up to her, and grasped Rachael's face with both hands and said, "Never stop doing it for the love of it!"

Tim Grimm – The Peoples Highway

Tim Grimm was a successful movie and stage actor who decided Hollywood was no place to raise his kids. He and his wife decided to return to the Indiana heartland where they were raised.  Soon after he picked up his guitar and began writing songs again. That first album was named, naturally enough,  “Heart Land”. Luckily for us he’s never put that guitar down. Here he is performing from his most recent release, “The Back Fields” a song titled “Sometimes Trouble Is A Gift”.
