Josiah Altschuler
In 2006 Josiah Altschuler quit his job as a computational biologist at Harvard University in order to become a professional musician. Having had no experience in playing classical guitar, he began to learn its intricacies at a prodigious rate, and to accompany his brother, violinist Emil Altschuler, on both the East and West coasts of the United States, and over-seas.
He now accompanies various musicians, and performs as a soloist, carving his own niche by presenting hybrid shows of folk, rock and classical music. A typical solo performance will cross over a wide variety of genres, from the ancient to the modern, incorporating several instruments. He has adapted a unique guitar-like finger-picking technique to the cello, which brings a signature sound to his music Josiah is currently recording his first CD, “Murder Ballads and Love Songs for Cello and Voice,” which will be available in June, 2008.
Here he is performing “Country Blues”.

Heather Waters
When asked “What inspired the songs on her new record, “Propeller” Heather Waters quipped “Love and murder, baby.” This new CD is dramatically different from her last critically acclaimed album “Shadow” that drew rave reviews and comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Kelly Willis. But Heather explains “I don't want to be restricted by genre, or at least, people's perceptions of what genre is, I live in Los Angeles. I'm married to a rock drummer. I don't drive a truck and I haven't ridden a horse or lived on a farm in ages. I might say "howdy," but there's more to me than that and I think the music should reflect that.”
Here she is performing “Castaway” from her new release “Propeller”.
