WNMC Folk Aire Playlist June 3

Mercy! There were so many songs to share, I couldn't fit them all in one show and still keep my music director happy.  It's a good thing the md and I love much of the same music, so once in a while he puts something kellybeez has recommended on the air and/or in rotation.  Some of the best parts of community radio include trusting the judgement of one's cohorts.

I'd like to point out the David Harvey production of Moody Bluegrass - it's a great path, and great journey and a great destination. Who needs a formal orchestra when you've got Tim O'Brien, Tim May, Sam Bush, Alison Krauss AND Alison Brown?  The list of contributors is nothing short of fantastic.  Last I heard (last week), David Harvey is hard at work on Volume II. It is promised to be heard on WNMC when it is released...or so says kellybeez, per her new favorite mandolin player, luthier Harvey.

Gretchen Priest and Plaidgrass and the awesome Fiddle-N-Pick first ever Teen Night in Pegram, TN:  The Scarlet Kings led me to this fantastic place, courtesy of SK's Mark Evitts. Rooms and rooms of restoration lead the faithful to the Heritage Center of Middle Tennessee, keeping tradition alive and growing with new players learning old tricks and old players learning new ones.

Rusty Bridgers showed kellybeez much hospitality during the Hillside Spring Bluegrass Festival. Had to play one from each release - tough to decide between the songs. Rusty has a knack for this music stuff, and both productions, released a year apart, are engineered crisply, letting the songs speak for themselves.
